Dr. Masson does not perform surgical procedures or injections that proliferate on social networks for fashion reasons, such as canthopexy, fox eyes, injections of unconsidered lip volume, small pinched noses, “xxl” buttock or breast augmentations, liposuction on obese patients without respect for hygienic-dietary rules, etc.

All plastic surgery procedures must be carried out ethically and have a therapeutic purpose, respecting a care pathway, reconstructing, treating a complex, sometimes cleverly combating the consequences of the effects of time, and under no circumstances should they be carried out for fashion reasons or to follow commercial trends, particularly under the influence of certain social networks. An in-office consultation is not synonymous with surgery. If the indication for surgery is not good, if the request is unrealistic, if the patient’s psyche is fragile (dysmorphia, influence of a third party…), if the benefit-risk ratio or the medical service rendered are not positive, then Dr Masson will not perform the requested procedure.

We would like to warn the younger generation about the often extreme techniques that can be seen on certain social networks, and their consequences. Medicine should not be practised like a business; any medical act carries a risk of complications, and its long-term effects must be considered.
